Workshop developed in conjunction with the IV Seminar on Heritage in the Neoliberal Era, already held in Valdivia (2016), Temuco (2017) and Concepción (2017). This time held in the province of Coquimbo in partnership with the Universidad de La Serena, between 14 and 15 September 2017, with the theme of consolidating a line of debate around coastal heritage, its potential, prevalence and vulnerability to global phenomena.

"It is proposed to observe the communities that inhabit the coast and the strong changes experienced in recent decades, taking into account the dimensions of globality and its magnitude, which dangerously gravitate towards pre-existing local activities; these traditions and port practices with heritage value that defined and marked the territory's identity. By going to global scales in the space of their customs, the prevalence of this heritage is threatened."
